One thing that we try to do in our house is instill a love of reading in our kids. Growing up, my favorite series was the Goosebumps series. Although I did not own every single book, I am pretty sure I have read each one at least once. They were not exactly Scholastic book fair worthy (also a favorite!), but they had me mesmorized. I especially loved the "choose your own ending" books.
These days, I am into different romantic novels as well as biographies. My kids seem to be into something different each week, but so far, they enjoy stories that feature their favorite movie or television show characters like Shimmer and Shine or Thomas the tank engine.
Reading before bed has become part of our routine and they love choosing which book to read each night. One issue we come across is having the bright overhead light on while I am trying to put them to bed or having my own bedroom light on while my husband is trying to get a good night's rest. I was thankful to come across the iLight Rechargeable LED Book Light.

It is so small, yet so simple. It comes with a wall plug and cord to recharge it once it has run out of battery power. Although, right out of the box, it comes pre-charged with a few hours of light. It has 5 different ways to set the lighting which can be turned on with the simple push of a button on top of each LED light. You can use one side on LOW while the other is OFF. You could use one side on HIGH while the other is OFF. You could use one side on LOW while the other is LOW as well. You could use one side LOW while the other is HIGH and you could also use both set to HIGH.
Although the LOW setting is named as such, it is actually quite bright. The lights are wired in and the poles that extend are adjustable to fit your lighting needs. The lights can light up to two full pages at one time.
