As I sit here writing this, I can't help but feel a bit emotional. I have no clue where time has gone. I attended a transition meeting for my son today and we discussed his next venture- Kindergarten! I swear it took everything in me not to break out into a bout of ugly crying. I feel as though I just had him yesterday. He has come so far from his stay in the hospital at birth for jaundice to his start of speech therapy at school. He has grown quite a bit and is talking up a storm. He is so smart and is learning so much more every day. He is super excited though to be able to ride the big bus with the big kids. I feel like this may be harder for me than it will for him. Ha!
My daughter will be 3 in March and she is soon to go off to start pre school. I'm not quite sure she knows what school is just yet but she is just as excited. She knows she gets to wear a backpack and leave the house! She gets plenty of interaction through play with her brother, but I know peer interaction will be an important part of her development. Maybe she will learn to share? We can all hope.
With all these changes going on, I can't help but to get a touch of Baby Fever. Currently, Nexplanon has that locked down, but I would love to have one more someday. Today the mailman dropped off yet another precious Prime package. I ordered the most adorable fleece baby booties in Cotton Candy pink from BirdRock Baby. My son's pre school teacher is having her first baby and its a girl! I can't wait to get these to her. They are made from super soft fleece in gorgeous colors, organic cotton inside and have snaps so you can adjust as needed to fit baby. Cuteness and eco-friendliness aside, each purchase helps to feed a child in need for one day through their partner Feed My Starving Children. A small business that gives back is always one I love to support. Go check them out: https://birdrockbaby.com/collections/baby-booties
For now, I will try to cherish these precious moments I can steal whether it's practicing writing a name or cuddling while watching Moana. I know it won't last long and I'm sure it goes by just as fast for them. I'll just hold on to them as tight as I can.. Until they get hot and want to run or see a toy they spot from across the room under the kitchen counter.
Ta for now.
